Many charities and charity shops have taken a hit this year as a result of a lack of fundraising and a dramatic drop in retail sales. Despite this, Love Island favourite Maura Higgins has certainly outdone herself with her donations to a midlands charity shop recently.
Maura became a reality star after shining on our screens last summer on the UK reality show, Love Island. She currently lives in the UK so her mother Sharon donated Maura’s collection of old clothes to the Saint Vincent de Paul shop in Athlone.
Maura has donated 160 items in total. The clothes are mostly size 6 and 8 and there is also a number of size 4 shoes on sale.
The news of the donation was announced on the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Facebook page. Customers are only being allowed to purchase a maximum of 5 items from Maura’s collection dating from her time as a model prior to her appearance on Love Island.
In the post, SVP said “due to Covid restrictions we are unable to facilitate a large number of people in our shop at any one time. So we are giving ten lucky shoppers special access to Maura’s donations in our SVP – Vincent’s Athlone shop.”
Details of how to enter the competition are on the post below! Well done Maura for providing all of these donations and Sharon for kindly bringing them to the Athlone shop!
